Ghostbyte Games ("we", "us", "our") builds games and the website at ghostbytegames.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to what a game and a website actually need to run — nothing more.
01 — Scope
This policy covers this website (ghostbytegames.com) and our games, including HeroBond: Co-op & PvP RPG and future titles, distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. The app stores have their own privacy terms that also apply when you download or pay through them.
02 — What we collect
- Account & profile data. Our games let you sign in with Google. When you create an in-game account we store an account identifier, a display name, and the email address associated with the Google account you use to log in. We do not receive your Google password.
- Gameplay data. Progress, stats, match results, and leaderboard standings — the data needed to run the game and its competitive features.
- Communications & user content. If you chat with other players or share content in-game, we collect and store those messages and content, along with any reports you submit, so we can run social features and keep the community safe.
- Purchase data. When you buy digital goods in-game, the transaction is processed by the App Store or Google Play. We receive confirmation of the purchase (not your full payment-card details).
- Device & technical data. Device type, OS version, app version, crash logs, and similar diagnostics that help us fix bugs and keep the game stable.
- Advertising data. Our games show ads served by third-party ad networks. To deliver and measure those ads, these partners may access your device's advertising identifier (such as the Google Advertising ID) and limited device and usage data. See Advertising below for details and how to opt out of personalized ads.
- Website analytics. This site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies and collects aggregated usage data (pages viewed, approximate region, device/browser) so we can understand traffic.
03 — How we use it
- To run accounts, save progress, and operate game features.
- To run leaderboards and events and grant in-game rewards.
- To operate chat and social features and process in-game purchases.
- To moderate content, handle blocks and reports, and keep players safe.
- To prevent cheating, fraud, and abuse.
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve our games and site.
- To respond to support requests and important service notices.
We do not sell your personal data. Our games are supported by ads served through third-party ad networks; see Advertising for how that works and your choices.
04 — Third parties
We share data only with service providers that help us operate, and only as needed:
- Google Sign-In — to authenticate your account when you log in.
- Apple App Store & Google Play — distribution and in-app purchases.
- Payment providers — to process in-app purchases.
- Advertising partners — to serve and measure in-game ads.
- Hosting & backend providers — to store data and run the services.
- Google Analytics — website usage measurement.
We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our players and the studio.
05 — Advertising
Our games are free to play and supported by ads. We use third-party ad networks — for example, Google AdMob — to show ads inside the game. To serve and measure ads, these networks may collect and process your device's advertising identifier, IP address, and limited device and ad-interaction data. We don't share your name or email with ad networks for advertising.
Ad partners act as independent controllers of the data they collect and handle it under their own privacy policies. For Google AdMob, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Your choices. You can limit ad personalization or reset your advertising ID in your device settings — on Android under Settings → Privacy → Ads, and on iOS under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Where required, we ask for your consent before showing personalized ads.
06 — Community & social features
Our games include social features such as in-game chat, friends, and content you can share with other players. Your display name, profile, and anything you post or send may be visible to other players, so please don't share information you want to keep private.
To keep the community safe, chat is moderated and you can block or report other players or their content. We may review, store, and act on messages and reported content — including removing content or suspending accounts — and may share it with moderators or authorities where necessary. You can also limit interactions to invited friends only in your in-game settings.
07 — How we protect your data
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls that limit who can reach personal data, and reputable hosting and payment providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to address issues promptly if they arise.
08 — Children
Our games are intended for players aged 13 and older (or the minimum age required in your country). They are not directed to children under that age, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
09 — Data retention & deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it.
Deleting your account and data. You can request deletion of your account and the personal data associated with it at any time on our account deletion page, or by emailing [email protected] with the account or email you use in the game. We will delete your data within 30 days, except for information we're required to retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or accounting reasons (for example, records of in-app purchases), which we keep only as long as the law requires.
10 — Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, email us at the address below and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
11 — Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our games and services evolve. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top of this page, and for material changes we'll provide additional notice where appropriate.
